    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Already gifted a giant bottle of Argentinean wine by Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham, Messi is targeting Copa America glory this summer. The reigning world and South American champions began their campaign with a 2-0 group stage win over Canada.

  • WHAT MESSI SAID

Messi said in his caption: "Thank you so much for all the greetings and congratulations!! Another year that coincides with my birthday being with the National Team… So celebrating a little bit more and we keep getting ready for our next game. Hugs!"

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Despite turning 37, Messi isn't actually the oldest player in Argentina's Copa America squad. That honour goes to back-up goalkeeper Franco Armani, who was born in 1986 and celebrated his 37th birthday back in October.
